i really love the overall aesthetic of the video, as the camera slowly pans out in a continuous shot to reveal the size of the crowd - the crowd that doesn't even exist. the fact that animation is used over real people allows the crowd to be manipulated in certain ways - such as at the end, when the crowd literally flies up, in a strange vortex of bodies. since this is more or less impossible to achieve in reality, by having digital figures instead, the boundaries of what can and can't be done are removed. the fantasy of having this ultimate audience can be realised through animation.

de staat - witch doctor
i watched this animation at manchester animation festival, and it really stuck out to me. the integration of live action and animated figures is astoundingly well done, and the mass choreography is mind-blowing.
